Another great story from Laura Deluca. This story was filled with magical beings, witches, lycans and evil. Morrigan always felt like she didn't belong, jumping from foster home to foster home. Little did she know she is a princess of another world. She is thrust into this new world thinking she will have a happily ever after and the family she's always longed for. Of course this wouldn't be an interesting story if everything went as planned. This was a fun filled story with love, action and plenty of drama. Even the ending showed how evil I'd always around the corner.

Morrigan Laura DeLuca 9781938397356 Books Reviews

Okay, let me get right to the point. This was an okay book, not amazing, sorta good. i really think this book has the ablity to be wonderful. i loved the plot line and the ideas behind the book, but the thing that stopped this book from being trruley amazing was there was no refusal. Sje believed everything that she was told. i'm a little disapointed about that. Right when she was told she was a princess, she believed it. i just want there to be something that added to the interpersonal conflict going on in this book. i would recamend this book, but only because i think good readers should make there own opinion about this book. It is good, but i think it could have been better
3.5 stars

I liked the story well enough, but I just couldn't love the characters. Morrigan is a witch who was abandoned in the human world, and because she was gifted, she unintentionally made everyone around her uncomfortable. Which led to her having no friends, no real home, and loneliness. So much so, she falls in love with someone she dreams about, and is desperate for the love of a mother who was plainly evil. She's had hints that things were not quite what she was led to believe, but she overlooked these things until it was almost too late and she loses everyone she either cares for or can trust. Not having been raised an orphan and shuffled around from foster home to foster home, I can't say what the norm is, and she is a teenager, so her behavior could be spot on...

What can I say? This book just did not grab me in the same was as the musical series did, but others really liked it, so it could just be me.
Morrigan feels like she just doesn't belong. Foster home to foster home and just didn't fit in anywhere. Fairies, witches and werewolves! Oh My! haha I love paranormal reading so this book had me hooked the first time they called out Morrrigan!
Morrigan was so amazing. I read it in one day and stayed up all night to finish it. Werewolves, witches, faeries and more all come into play. The journey through the portal to Tir na Nog was really unique. The elemental battle scene was unprecedented. I really think this was one of the best books I ever read. It was defintely the best of 2012 and I will certainly read it again and again. Hoping to see it on the big screen someday!
Typical raised-in-another-world-princess-has-to-fight-for-her-position fantasy with nothing special to catch my interest. I gave up halfway through.
I must admit that before reading Laura DeLuca's Morrigan, I hadn't read a YA book in decades. And I'm glad I did!

DeLuca weaves the teen angst and yearning for adulthood that we've all felt into the tale of Morrigan's search for her identity and roots. Early on, Morrigan tells the reader, "...the people around me seemed just as confused and even disturbed by me as I was by them." This is the sentence that hooked me; the words might have been snatched from the deep past of my own teenage brain!

Morrigan, an abandoned child shuffled from one foster home to another, has finally found a place that feels more comfortable than any of the others have been...and is torn, quite willingly, away from it. Her journey through the land of Tír na NÓg expands her nascent powers and forces a maturation of her heart that remaining in our world would have prevented.

If you're a fan of YA, this is a great book to add to your reading list. If you haven't read YA in years...this is the perfect book to dive back into the genre with.

The Lightness of Dust Book One of The Meronymy
The Lightness of Dust (The Meronymy)
The reading was smooth and easy the editing of the book was good Morgan was the typical teenager that was taken on a special Journey Through Time
